Mifos Deployment News Update

An MFI in Iloilo is slowly transferring its manual system to automated. It covers only the MFI processess but not the administrative part of the business. It may be a small move to some, but for me, it is still a great move to advance the core business and achieve competitive advantage with minimal investment.

My team will probably be in SECDEP-Iloilo for 5 months starting November 2008 for the roll-out of Mifos (a FREE-Opensource program that can be use by everybody).

The project is now in the process of cut-off -- data of all branches like client data, active loan and savings account will be collected using a migration template. Along with this is the activity of UAT where data of a branch will be transferred to a test server and stress-test to check the accuracy of migrated data and effectiveness of features and functionality of Mifos.

However, there are some issues encountered along the deployment but my team had able to create a work around to resolve it. By December 2008 the data collected in the cut-off will be migrated to the production server in preparation to the scheduled roll-out.
